“ASAP Natin ‘To,” the revamp of the longest running musical variety show on television, was No. 1 in its time slot on Sunday, nationwide ratings data show.
The maiden telecast of the all-new “ASAP” scored 15% in national TV ratings, according to Kantar Media.
Its competing program, meanwhile, was at a distant second with 9.6%.
“ASAP Natin ‘To,” which marked Regine Vealsquez’s debut as a mainstay on the ABS-CBN program, also reigned on social media on Sunday.
At one point, its official hashtag, #ASAPNatinTo, was the top trending topic on Twitter both nationwide and worldwide, with fans expressing excitement over the fresh collaborations on the show, and some engaging in debate about the new format.
“ASAP Natin ‘To,” as the title suggests, is a more inclusive incarnation of the all-star “ASAP” program, featuring real-life stories of fans, with a number also getting to share their talent on stage.
