MANILA – The state weather bureau warned of more heavy rains in the provinces on the path of tropical depression Samuel on Wednesday morning.
In its 8:00 a.m. advisory, PAGASA said strong rains that may trigger flash floods and landslides are seen over Bicol, Quezon, and the Mimaropa region as Samuel headed towards Iloilo.
The storm, last spotted at 90 kilometers east southeast of Roxas City, has top sustained winds of 45 kph near the center, and gusts of up to 70 kph, the weather agency said.
Cyclone warning Signal 1 has been lifted in Samar, but it remains hoisted over the following areas, which may be whipped by winds of up to 60 kph in the next 36 hours.

Samuel continues to move west at 30 kph. It is expected to exit the Philippine area of responsibility by Friday morning, said PAGASA.
