2 Korean fugitives to be deported, banned from PH

MANILA – The Bureau of Immigration (BI) has ordered the deportation of 2 Korean fugitives who were nabbed by operatives in Fairview, Quezon City several weeks ago.

Koreans Jang Kilwan and Lee Junhee, both wanted for cyber fraud, has been hiding in the country for over three years, said BI Commissioner Jaime Morente.

Immigration officials arrested the fugitives on November 10 after the Korean embassy sent them information about their whereabouts.

Authorities revealed that the foreigners were illegally operating and maintaining a private internet sports gambling site from which they allegedly profited more than US$200,000.

Aside from deporting the Koreans, Morente said they will also be blacklisted.
